The Pumping Station is a longstanding gay neighborhood bar at 1382 Poplar Avenue in Midtown Memphis, particularly popular with the city's leather, Levi and fetish crowd.

It's a laid-back place to grab a drink, play pool or darts, and meet local guys without the fuss of a big nightclub. There's food available too, and the bar is open seven days a week.

The monthly theme nights are a big part of its appeal. Pup Nite takes place on the second Friday of each month, welcoming the local pup play community, while Underwear Night on the fourth Saturday encourages guests to strip down to their underwear, with drink specials and entertainment.

Regular pool tournaments, karaoke and other events give the bar something going on throughout the week. Check the official schedule before visiting, particularly if you're planning your night around a particular theme.

Dru's Bar, also known as Dru's Place, is a popular LGBTQ+ neighborhood bar on Madison Avenue in Midtown Memphis. Karaoke is a big part of the appeal, alongside drag shows, trivia nights and regular entertainment.

The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with pool tables, darts and an outdoor patio where you can catch up with friends between performances. The kitchen serves pizza, making Dru's a handy choice for a relaxed evening that might turn into a much later night.

Dru's has a loyal local following and a busy events calendar, including Papa Bear Trivia on Thursdays. If you're visiting Memphis and fancy a singalong rather than a big dance club, this is a good place to start.
