      As You Are is a queer-women-owned café, lounge, and dance bar in Washington DC. Drop in during the day for coffee, snacks and lunch, then return at night for DJs, dancing and community events.

      The weekly programme includes Trans Night on Tuesdays, LIL Coffee Chat for queer people aged 35+ on Sundays, and Shower Karaoke every Sunday evening.         DC DYKE NIGHT is a long-running nightlife series for lesbians and queer women in Washington DC, held at a different venue on the first Wednesday of every month.

        The rotating format keeps things moving around the city, with each edition offering another excuse to get dressed up, meet other queer women and spend a night out with the local community. Past themes include goth night, mutual aid markets, and Pride parties.

          The Frequency Class

          The Frequency Class has been bringing Black queer women together across the DMV since 2019, with events ranging from proper nights out to relaxed daytime gatherings.

          The programme has included pool parties, WNBA watch parties, and daytime hangs with DJs and mimosas. It’s a community-focused series that gives Black queer women plenty of different ways to get together beyond the dance floor.

            DC Dyke March

            DC Dyke March is a grassroots annual march and community organising project centred on queer and dyke liberation in Washington, DC. The march takes place without corporate sponsorship and is traditionally held on the first weekend of June, with a different theme each year. Recent examples include Dykes Against Genocide, Dykes for Trans Rights and Dykes Against ICE.

            The organisation also runs events throughout the planning season, raises money for dyke artists and community projects, and supports mutual aid. The march itself is press-free and cop-free.
